Supporting the Government to Reduce Carbon Emissions, PT AT Indonesia Inaugurates Sustainable Rooftop Solar Power Plant

KARAWANG: PT AT Indonesia (ATI), a subsidiary of PT Astra Otoparts Tbk (Astra Otoparts) which is a joint venturebetween PT Astra Otoparts Tbk and Aisin Takaoka Co., Ltd., began using Rooftop Solar Power Plants (Solar PV) or solar panels in support of government programs to reduce carbon emissions by implementing more environmentally friendly production processes. This commitment is realized by the inauguration of solar pv or solar panels with a total capacity of 3 Mega Watt peak (MWp) with PT Energia Prima Nusantara (EPN) (14/12).

The inauguration of solar panels was carried out by President Director of PT AT Indonesia Isao Hida, Vice President Director of PT AT Indonesia Ageng Setiawan, and Director of Business Development of EPN Achmad Rizal Roesindrawan, and witnessed by Manager of Business Management and Electricity Service Products of PLN Icon Plus Bramanta Pradana. As for the process of this solar pv installation journey, EPN and PLN Icon Plus have collaborated in terms of ease of licensing the use of solar pv for the industrial sector.

The installation of solar panels at the Karawang factory is a manifestation of PT AT Indonesia’s commitment in accelerating the use of new and renewable energy, “We are grateful to be able to implement solar panels gradually at PT AT Indonesia’s factory facilities. This is a manifestation of cleaner and more sustainable energy use and is a form of commitment in maintaining environmental sustainability in line with the company’s goals in terms of Carbon Neutral,” said Isao Hida.

ATI hopes that the cooperation in installing solar panels with EPN can also increase synergy and positive collaboration across industries, especially the automotive sector, while maintaining a harmonious relationship with the environment for a better future generation of Indonesia by increasing the supply of sustainable renewable sources in Indonesia.

“We would like to express our deepest gratitude to ATI for entrusting this project to us. This Solar pv will produce 3.4 million kWh of electricity from renewable energy sources that will be enjoyed by ATI and will contribute to reducing CO 2 emissions to 2,972 tons of CO2 / year, “concluded Achmad Rizal.
