PT Energia Prima Nusantara (EPN), through its subsidiaries, namely PT Bina Pertiwi Energi (BPE) and PT Uway Energi Perdana (UEP) as IPP companies of Micro Hydro Power Plant Besai Kemu 2 X 3.5 MW Lampung has signed the Commercial Operation Date (COD) Minutes between Mr. Saleh Siswanto as General Manager of PLN UID Lampung as the buyer and Mr. Asep Iwan Gunawan as President Director of PT Uway Energi Perdana as the Seller.

With a production capacity of 2 x 3.5 MW, it is estimated that the two Micro Hydro Power Plant are capable of producing green energy of 39 Gigawatt Hours (GWh) per year.
“As the backbone of the success of the energy transition to achieve Net Zero Emissions (NZE) in 2060, PLN is actively accelerating various initiatives both collectively and collaboratively with stakeholders at home and abroad,” said Darmawan.
Darmawan explained, that currently PLN has planned to increase electrical energy to be supported from EBT by 75% and 25% from the gas sector until 2040.
“For this reason, PLN has prepared an Accelerated Renewable Energy Development (ARED) scenario to massively increase the capacity of NRE plants and overcome the challenges of intermittency and mismatch of the location of NRE sources with urban demand centers,” continued Darmawan.
General Manager of PLN Lampung Distribution Main Unit, Saleh Siswanto added, Micro Hydro Power Plant Besai Kemu is one of the Independent Power Producer (IPP) plants and is the third PLTM operating in Lampung after Micro Hydro Power Plant Batu Brak and PLTM Sukarame.
“We are grateful that today we have successfully operated the Besai Kemu Micro Hydro Power Plant which is an EBT plant in Lampung. This plant can contribute to increasing the ratio of the NRE or green energy mix, especially in Lampung Province,” said Saleh Siswanto.
Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Uway Energi Perdana, Asep Iwan Gunawan expressed his gratitude for the operation of the Besai Kemu Micro Hydro Power Plant 100%. According to him, this success is also supported by all parties in Lampung.
” Micro Hydro Power Plant Besai Kemu is expected to benefit the people of Lampung, especially the surrounding community. First, as an effort to provide clean energy, the electricity generated by the Besai Kemu Micro Hydro Power Plant is a strengthening of supply for the electricity subsystem in Lampung. Second, the presence of the Besai Kemu Micro Hydro Power Plant also absorbs new workers from the surrounding community in Banjit District,” concluded Asep.
