Mangroves have a main function as a prevention of abrasion and erosion in coastal areas. The mangrove ecosystem is also a place for marine life and animals around the area to live. Currently, many institutions and elements of society have participated in mangrove planting activities, another goal is to repair damaged land and coastal areas to make them green again. One form of concern for PT Energia Prima Nusantara (EPN) which supports the Swara Indonesia Cemerlang Foundation is to participate in organizing the Mangrove Planting Program in the Sedari Beach area of Karawang, with an area of 7 hectares.
The program, which was held at Sedari Beach, Karawang, was aimed at participating in the planting of mangroves or often mangroves. Mangrove ecosystems are quite important, especially for coastal areas, both as a fortress against disasters and as alternative livelihoods through industrial and tourism development.
